Leadership, teachers, staff, business partners, law enforcement, and our parent organizations have joined together to provide parents and caregivers Internet literacy information, resources, and support to families via public service announcements, brochures, workshops, and videos.

There are many resources available to guide our children to safe, appropriate learning opportunities online. This web site offers a collection of resources and tools to support our program in school and your child’s safety and learning at home.
Parents: Get Involved with what your kids are doing online.
Our Internet Literacy committee has previewed all of these resources for appropriateness. However, web sites and the links provided change daily and for this reason, we encourage you to choose those tools and resources that fit your family’s needs and values.

While most of the web sites reference safe and appropriate use as Internet Safety, Spotsylvania County Public Schools promotes ‘Internet literacy’ since the term ‘literacy’ includes other important school division-wide goals such as digital literacy, 21st century skills, and appropriate and safe use of the Internet, hardware, and networks. Internet Safety is a MAJOR part of our Internet Literacy program.

Each tab above links you to one of our five Internet Literacy areas. On each page, you will learn about that area of our program and the online and in-school resources that are available to you.
