Seussical Jr. - LIVE!

Do you have a knack for hats?  Are you a fan of Dr. Seuss?  Freedom Middle School students will be performing Seussical Jr. live on their very own stage.  Tickets will be sold during lunch and the cost is $3.00 each.  Matinee tickets will be sold March 15-22 and the evening performance tickets will be sold March 15-23.  Tickets sold for the matinee can only be used for the matinee and the evening performance tickets can only be used for the evening performance.  Remember, seating is limited so be sure to get your ticket early!

The matinee will be held on March 23rd from 3-4:45.  Students staying after school must have their ticket signed by a parent/guardian and a ride home at 4:45.  If they wish to bring a snack and a bottle of water, there will be time to eat/drink their snack while the actors are getting ready.  Remember, if you don't have a signed ticket, you cannot stay.  Advance ticket sales only.  Tickets will NOT be sold at the door.

The evening performance will be March 25th beginning at 7:00 P.M.  Tickets must be purchased in advance.  Seats are limited.  Tickets will go on sale during the lunch shifts the week of March 15th and will be sold until they are gone!  The cost is $3.00.  Advance ticket sales only.  Tickets will NOT be sold at the door.

 
Cast of Seussical Jr.

Rehearsal is Wednesday and Friday from 3-5PM.  Please bring in your costume on Friday to be checked out and for photographs.  Bring a note to stay, a bottle of water and have a ride home at 5.  

 
Spring Sports Tryouts

Tryouts for Girl’s Softball, Boy’s Soccer and Track will begin on Wednesday, March 24th.  7th and 8th grade students that plan to tryout must have a completed VHSL Sports Physical form the first day of tryouts (or on file from this school year).

 
Band

8th grade band practice is tomorrow, Wednesday 3-4:45PM

The band state festival is Thursday from 5-8PM at Brooke Point HS. Buses are provided, but please have a ride home from FMS by 8PM.  Your child may stay after school Thursday if necessary.

 
Chorus Concert

The Chorus will have a pre-festival concert on Thursday, March 11 at FMS in the auditorium.  
6:00 p.m. 6th Grade Chorus  
6:45 p.m. 7th and 8th Grade Combined Chorus
7:30 p.m. Belle Musique and Beau Geste.  
Formal Concert Attire is required.  Students should arrive 10 minutes before this scheduled time and will be dismissed after they perform.  

 
Rising 6th Grade Orientation
6th Grade Dance

The spring 6th grade dance will be Friday, March 19 from 3:00-5:00PM.  The tickets will be $5 and will include pizza & drink.  The dance theme will be disco.  Tickets will be sold March 15-18 during lunch.  Absolutely no late ticket sales.  Tickets must be signed by a parent/guardian.

 
PTA Spirit Night

The next PTA spirit night is set for March 17, 5:00-8:00 p.m. @ Southpoint Chick-fil-A.  When you go to Chick-fil-A you must mention you are from FMS.

 
National Junior Honor Society Applicants

Due to the overwhelming response of students who are interested in becoming members of NJHS for the 2010-2011 school year the blue form and teacher recommendations are due on March 12th regardless of GPA calculations. Please do not wait for the GPA calculations as they will take longer than expected. Contact Mrs. Colvin (kcolvin@ms.spotsylvania.k12.va.us) with any questions.
