Spotsylvania counselors are sharing their talents at statewide conferences!

Spotsylvania county counselors are being recognized for the positive contributions that they make each and every day.  During the 2010-2011 school year, several presented at state and national conferences.

Ms. Tiffany Marchetti (Chancellor) presented at the Virginia School Counselors Association (VSCA) conference on Sexting: what every teenager and parent needs to know.  This presentation is based on a program that was started at Chancellor High School last year in 9th and 10th grade PE classes.

Mr. Anthony Bramlett (Berkeley) presented at the VSCA conference in March. He discussed bullying awareness efforts in his school.  He utilizes the P.I.C. acronym to help students better understand this concept (purposeful, imbalance, continuous).

Ms. Catherine Graves (Salem) presented at the VSCA conference in March on Bullying Must Stop.   She focused on teaching students how to recognize, report and resolve bullying issues.  Catherine was also nominated Secretary Elect of the Virginia School Counseling Association.

Ms. Binion  (Supervisor) presented a New York State wide webinar on improving attendance by addressing School Refusal.  She also presented the same conference at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston in July.  Ms. Binion also spoke at St. John's University in New York City on the topic of School Counselor Accountability.
