INSTRUCTIONAL DEPARTMENT

The mission of the school division is to prepare all students to excel in a dynamic global society.  The Spotsylvania County Schools division is committed to excellence and has high expectations for its students.  The division, in addition to the basic program of studies, offers programs for gifted students, alternative and remedial programs, and a wide variety of special education services.

Spotsylvania County Schools has a written, integrated preK-12 curriculum that is relevant, rigorous, differentiated and aligned with the Virginia Standards of Learning (SOL's).  We believe measurable and achievable student goals must guide teaching and learning.  Data are used to measure and inform continuous improvement in teaching and learning.  To that end, various assessments are made throughout the year.
