 SCHOLARSHIPS AND FINANCIAL AID

Students and parents have many resources available to locate information about scholarships and financial aid information. This section will provide information about upcoming events to learn more about these opportunities as well as provide links to specific scholarships and sources for financial aid. Site information will be updated periodically to advertise new opportunities.

LOCAL SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Each high school has special scholarships that are awarded at the end of the senior year to students who meet the specific criteria for the award. These scholarships have been created and funded by local business partners, families and alumni. Seniors who complete the application for Local Scholarships are eligible to be considered for those awards.

College Board.com Account: All grade 9 students will have the opportunity to open a free account with College Board.com during the second marking period classroom guidance sessions conducted by counselors. This account will enable students to search for colleges that fit their profile, complete a scholarship search and gain valuable tips for preparing for the college admission testing program. Students of any grade level who have not created their accounts can check with their school counselor or the College and Career Information Specialist in the Career Center to gain assistance with the process.

High School Career Center Services: Students and parents can obtain scholarship information from the Career Center at each high school as well as schedule an appointment to do both college and financial aid searches. Career Centers offer a wide variety of information on the college admission process including financial aid resources, and specific college catalogs that contain scholarship information for that institution.  Check out the bulletin board displays to learn of scholarships opportunities.

School Announcements: Students receive announcements regarding college representative visits to the school. Students are encouraged to sign up to meet with these representatives to discuss college costs and financial aid options.
