DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME officially begins March 14. Set your clocks forward one hour before going to bed Saturday night.
**March 12 is a makeup day. It will be a B day. March 26 will now be a regular B day of school. April 2 is a teacher workday and reserved as a make-up day if needed.
The RHS track & field team will be kicking off the season with our ONLY HOME MEET of the year on Wednesday, March 17th at 3:30 p.m.
The Riverbend Fine Arts Department will be presenting Grease on Mar. 25, 26, and 27 at 7PM. Tickets may be purchased for the door for $10.00. For more information, please contact Kelly Cresswell at the school.
Loan Information Night, March 31, 6:00-8:30 p.m. in RHS auditorium. Listen to and speak with representatives from the VA Council of Higher Education, financial aid officers from 4 year and 2 year colleges, US Dept of Education, Wachovia and the Veterans Office.
The Third Annual 5K CROSS COUNTRY RUN/WALK, sponsored by the PE/Health Dept at Riverbend, will take place on Saturday, April 17, 2010, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Download the registration form here.
Change in Instructional Calendar: The end of the third grading period has been extended by one week. The new dates related to the end of the third grading period are now:
March 4,5--Interims will be distributed
March 26 is now a regular day of school
April 1 – End of third grading period * (April 5-9 = Spring Break)
April 2 is a Teacher Workday
April 15 – Report Cards to be issued
April 21 – High School parent conferences
April 15 - April 20 are the 3rd Benchmark tests: 4/15th (B5 & B7), 16th (A1 & A3), 19th (B6 & B8), 20th (A2 & A4)
In order for a student to be eligible to purchase a parking permit s/he and a parent must attend one of the Safe Driving Seminars. Students who anticipate purchasing a parking permit for next school year (2010-2011) can plan ahead and attend one of the seminars now so that they will be ready to buy when the permits go on sale in August before school starts.

Feb 18 - 7pm at Spotsylvania HS--NOTE: been RESCHEDULED for Thursday, March 4th at 7pm.
Mar 24 - 5:30pm at Courtland HS
April 21 - 6:30pm at Massaponax HS--NOTE: been RESCHEDULED for Wednesday, April 26 at 6:30 p.m.
May 19 - 6:30pm at Riverbend HS
