Verified Credits
Verified credits are earned by students who are taking high school level courses which generate end-of-course tests (i.e. Algebra I, World Geography, Chemistry, or English 11.) In order to earn verified credits, students must pass both the SOL course and its accompanying SOL test. For instance, a student who passes World Geography in ninth grade must also pass the SOL test in order to verify the credit for graduation purposes. The following courses generate the following SOL end-of-course tests:

Students must take certain courses for the Advanced Studies Diploma. The mathematics credits must include three credits from among Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, or another mathematics course above the level of Algebra II. The science credits must include three credits from at least three different science disciplines: earth science, biology, chemistry, or physics. Courses for the history and social science requirements must include Virginia/U.S. History, Virginia/U.S. Government, World History and World Geography.
