Come and join our Transportation Team; become a School Bus Driver or a School Bus Attendant. Go to the Spotsylvania County Schools Web page: www.spotsylvania.k12.va.us; click on the Department heading, scroll to Human Resources; on new page click on Employment heading, scroll to Application Information to fill out your application. You must submit a driving record from the Department of Motor Vehicles with your application to become a school bus driver.
Starting pay for Non-contracted Bus Drivers is: $13.75
Starting pay for Non-Contracted Bus Attendants is: $7.57
We help prepare you to acquire a CDL Learners for DMV.
After acquiring your learners, we will send you to Health Services
for a physical and the Health Department for a TB screening.
After completing this you are ready to start training.
Training classes are from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm for approximately 8 days;
behind the wheel training is 9:30 to 1:00 for approximately 5 days.
Ten hours with students is AM & PM after testing.
After training if you have pre-school children, age two and up,
you are allowed to take them with you on the bus.
Our training is provided here on site.
There are 48 hours of classroom training and a
minimum of 24 hours behind the wheel training.
